We have availability in all our self catering houses this Autumn.

We accept weeks(Friday to Friday or Monday-Monday), 3 night weekends (Friday -Monday) or Midweeks (Monday to Friday). We offer 3 night weekends as we find guests do not want to vacate by 10am on the Sunday morning, most like a lazy day before leaving later in the afternoon/evening or on the Monday morning.

Our 3 large properties each have a hot tub open to use all year round, they also have games barns. 4 properties have working log fires, logs included October till April.

Guests are welcome to visit the main farm to see the cows being milked, see the baby calves, and the beef cattle.

Farming

Trip down memery lane on our farm

Just looking through some old photos and came across these.

This photo was taken in 2004 and its of a Cow and her 3 calves, that is a very rare occurrence !

Nearly all cows have 1 baby a year and occasionally some have twins . We have been farming for 60 years plus and never seen a triplet before or after this one. If memory serves me right these 3 beef calves all did very well.

Robotic milking

Do you know what Robotic milking is?

When staying at one of our Self Catering properties guests are welcome to come and look around the main farm.

We have a large herd of cows that are milked through our 6 robotic milking machines and they can be milked up to 6 times a day. Its all computerised with the help of the collars they where so automatic when it comes to giving them the good cake when they come to be milked, and the amount is worked out by the time of there lactation and the milk that they produce. The system also picks up if a cow is poorly, has a temp or is of her food often before there are any visible signs.
