Family Christmas and New Year Fun

Christmas Gatherings

Have you ever thought about having family or friends early Christmas or a late New Year weekend celebration together?
We have an extended family who have for several years booked one of our large self catering properties for a weekend in early December. They come from all over the country and always meet up in our central location. They always put the Christmas decorations up and have a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, open presents and play games.

New Year Celebrations

We also have another extended family that come every January, usually the first weekend.  They also decorate the property and have a traditional roast dinner then enjoy their time together in the games barn and hot tub.

Whitchurch Church

A Local Destination

Did you know that in our local village of Whitchurch Canonicorum is the very ancient church of St Candida and the Holy Cross?

It is the only parish church in England to contain the remains of an ancient saint and is extremely rare as all shrines were ordered to be destroyed during the Reformation. The St Wite shrine is a stone chest which contains her remains with three large oval openings for pilgrims to put their afflicted limbs into in the hope that they would be cured.
